A little about myself and Sawayer Logistics PLLC
My name is Paul Sawayer and I am the CEO of Sawayer Logistics, PLLC, which I established in 2018, with the goal of having an internet presence offering educational, therapy, and life coaching services.
The educational aspect of my website is to provide visitors with educational materials thru selected and blog articles across a range of topics.
You may find that many of the educational and blog materials here also focus on contemporary social issues that have come to have an impact, directly or indirectly on our mental and spiritual health.
Some of these contemporary topic areas include Blog articles on Law Enforcement, Veterans, LGBTQ Citizens, Retirement Planning, Time Management, Sexual Abuse, Near Death Experiences, Out of Body Experiences and Weather Trauma to name just a few.
Beyond the work of creating this website, my energy in life has been spent focused on many other personal and professional interest.
I love to travel and have become enchanted with the island beauty of Puerto Rico, the colors of Mexico and the joyful culture of Panama.
The photographic opportunities offered in these places have been amazing.
I especially enjoyed being near the coastal areas of these countries where the oceans and their rhythmic waves keep time, and their beaches that offer different colored sands from almost white to black and textures from silty to course pebbles and the distinctive smells of beach sand, sea shells and Sargassum sea weed coloring the blue waters green, bathes all the senses.
In the United States, I have been able to adventure along the California Coastline to the beaches of the New England States and from French Canada all the way to the Southern Border and many places in between, often lingering in the beauty of our National Parks.
Over the years, aligned with my travels, I have enjoyed my passion for nature photography, capturing images of wild animals and birds in their habitat. I have become enamored with drone photograph, which offers a new and dramatic way of viewing the world, previously unavailable.
Some other ways I spend my life’s energy includes being a pet parent for a female Ragdoll Breed cat named Bandit and a white male Maltese breed named MoJo. The latter requires special accomodations because age has robbed him of both his sight and hearing, but not his passion for squirrel chasing.
As of late, I Ihave come to appreciate the science and art of cooking and all things culinary.
I have learned to be a writer and blogger and web creator by spending endless hours researching.
Long before creating my WordPress sight for Sawayer Logistics, I shared my personal life observations on my other WordPress site, Renditions Blog. I have a link on Sawayer Logistics for the curious minded.
My personal writings started out more as a series of journal entries about my journey thru the land of divorce. These journal musing later evolved into prose on other life observations.
Most of all, as a student of Cultural Anthropology, I love watching people. As a species, we are truly varied creatures, who come in all colors of the cultural and geographic rainbow. This has also affected my preference for people as photography subjects.
I believe that our human views of the world and the unique shared experiences that reflect each persons special life experiences, are both dissimilar enough to be fascinating and yet similar enough to transcend our differences.
By observing those who are different, I believe we learn to appreciate the reality that there are many ways to live and to be human and that each “reality” is unique to the.person who lives it.
This facination with people has led me to explore the “ultimate” questions and lessons about life, death, values that provide us common ground that serves to breach the petty belief narratives we often suffer under.
My professional experience in Psychotherapy dates back to the mid 1970’s, with some detours along the way to teaching counseling and psychology classes for several years on the collegate level.
I now have a small, private practice in life coaching and Psychotherapy.
More specifically, my clinical orientation is that of an Existential Psychotherapist.
Both Existential Philosophy and the practice of Existential Psychotherapy, go far beyond offering mere theories and techniques to client that reflect.current treatment trends and affect behavioral symptoms alone.
Existentailism deals with where you and I live, consciously or unconsciously, in the core of our existence and that place is both essential and mysterious.
Admittedly, Existential Psychotherapy is not appropriate for everyone.
It’s can seem slow paced compared to the quick solutions or direct symptom relief pushed mostly by the health insurance industry.
By its very focus on ultimate values, Existential Psychotherapy, requires great patience, strong commitment to growth and the courage to dive down into the very personal and unique definitions of life each client is willing to share and explore.
It is a search for the answers to the questions of who they are now and who they want to become tomorrow by examining the unquestioned life narratives we all develop thru our lives .
My approach to providing services to clients is to be a laser focused listener who hears the deep concerns and emotions of each individual who comes thru the door, facing new and overwhelming challenges at home, at work, and even in their marriages.
As a practicing Existential Psychotherapist, I focus clients on issues such as their death, their freedom, their chosen level of responsibility for their lives, in a professional and non-judgemental way.
Existential Psychotherapists see the experiences of anxiety, alienation, and depression as natural stages in a normal process of human development and maturation.
As such, there is very little focus on formal diagnostic catagories that tend to lead to unhelpful self judgements.
Specific methods used in sessions include exploring new communication styles, developing mindfulness, re-framing beliefs and emotions, exploring psychological and spiritual narratives by learning new personal definitions of long range goals.
I specialize in working with clients who have experienced past physical, emotional or spiritual trauma and as a result are suffering from symptoms that make their enjoyment of life difficult.
These clients include people working on lifes “front lines” of society including Military service members, Law Enforcement professionals, Dispatch Personnel, Fire Department members, Medical professionals, Educators, Clergy, Hospice Professionals, as well as individuals who have a diagnosed terminal illness, or who were involved in a Near Death Experiences or who have had an Out of Body Experience.
These are special folks who have a strong need to feel heard, understood and appreciated as worthy.
So, I hope that Sawayer Logistics can provide you with something interesting and engaging to explore and perhaps consider as a way to a better life. Thanks for reading!
